More about Darren

B.B.S, C.A, C.P.P, member NZICA

Darren is the Milestone JV’s Chair and has been involved with the Milestone group in various capacities since 2009. At a time when the JV was at a crossroads, he was appointed Chairman in 2015 to help the JV develop a more cohesive approach to its brand and market position. As an independent member of the board he has been instrumental in leading the board through a consensus approach.

He is a Director and Partner in Venter & Hull Chartered Accountants limited, a Whanganui based Chartered Accountancy practice with client base that extends throughout NZ.

Darren had extensive experience in the Commercial sector prior to going into private practice and this enables him to provide business advisory services including strategic planning and business growth. Darren brings his broader commercial experience to bear when assessing risk and helping the board make better decisions. He has a clear understanding of the role of governance, strategy, operations, execution, and performance appraisal.

‘Strategy is key to business success’ knowing where you want to get to and more importantly how to get there. Reacting quickly to the impact of market and industry changes is vital.

Not all life is about work. With his family mostly grown up, in his spare time Darren is a keen golfer and mountain bike rider. He likes the great outdoors and enjoys NZ’s diverse and spectacular walking opportunities.
